Born And Bred

Time to break out some of that rare old video tape stuff. I've had this for awhile but it was a real mess. I finally got around to blurring the time clock, cleaning up the frayed edges, editing out the individual episodes and correcting the A/V sync. Gee, I can't wait for the first person to bitch about the quality. Don't confuse this with the BBC's Born And Bred of 2002-2005 starring James Bolam etc. (http://uktvfl.blogspot.com/2010/02/born-and-bred.html), this was a Thames comedy-drama that ran for two series, the first in 1978. As you can see from the photo, this is only series 2 from 1980. This program had a large cast including Joan Sims, the comic legend best known to people in the US for the role she had at the time of her death: Madge, Rocky Hardcastle's soul mate in As Time Goes By. I'll leave it at that because her list of credits is way too long for me to tackle. For that matter, I have a 2002 episode of "The Unforgettable" series featuring Joan Sims and I'll put that on this disc too. Other familiar faces include Gorden Kaye (Rene Artois in the classic 'Allo 'Allo!), Kate Williams (Joan Booth in Love Thy Neighbour, etc.), Treavor Peacock (no-no-no-no-no Jim in Vicar Of Dibley) and so on. There's not much info about this one, but the IMDB page has a good review someone contributed. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0076990/
