Both of these are returning for a second series sometime in the future.

Hatching, Matching and Dispatching + Testees

Originally I had Testees on a disc with Season 1 of 18 To Life, but since that show needs it's own disc here's a new program to go with Testees.

Hatching, Matching And Dispatching is a Canadian sitcom about a family and associates that operate a combined ambulance, wedding and funeral business somewhere in Newfoundland.

South Riding + Upstairs Downstairs

South Riding is a recent 3-part drama production from BBC Manchester with funding provided by Masterpiece (and PBS "viewers like you") which means it will be aired, or has already?, on PBS in the US.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/South_Riding_%282011_miniseries%29
There was a 13-part story back in 1974 on ITV, so this must be an abridged edition for the short attention span crowd.

Upstairs Downstairs was a 3-part drama production from BBC Wales with funding provided by
Masterpiece (and PBS "viewers like you") which means it will be aired, or has already?, on PBS in the US.

There was a 68-part story back in the 70's on ITV, so this must be an abridged edition for the short attention span crowd.

Hustle - Series 7

Hustle, the BBC crime drama, wrapped up its 7th series back about a month ago. It will be returning next year for an 8th. This time around guest stars included The Old Guys: Clive Swift and Roger Lloyd Pack and the always lovely Hannah Gordon........even if she did kill Victor Meldrew.

Fortunes Of War

Fortunes Of War is a 1987 adaptation of the Olivia Manning series of novels produced by the BBC with funding provided by WGBH for PBS Masterpiece Theatre. This one had an impressive cast including Kenneth Branagh and Emma Thompson as the featured couple of the story. They must have hit it off pretty well off-camera as they ended up being married for a period after this.

Shine On Harvey Moon

It took several years to piece this one together, but Friday, with the airing of Love And Marriage on the Yesterday channel, it is done.

Shine On Harvey Moon was another program from Marks & Gran. If I had to classify it I guess I'd call it a comedy-drama. It takes place in London at the end of WWII. It had a great cast including Kenneth Cranham, Maggie Steed, Nigel Planer, Linda Robson, Elizabeth Spriggs, Lee Whitlock, Pauline Quirke.

There was a 10 year gap between Series 4 and 5 and the final series takes place in the 1950's. Kenneth Cranham did not return for that one and Harvey Moon was played by Nicky Henson.

Visually, the period detail achieved by the production team is very impressive for a television show.

Brookside - Disc 14

Brookside - Disc 14

The Gentle Touch

The Gentle Touch was a police drama starring Jill Gascoine (The Onedin Line, Home To Roost) as DI Maggie Forbes. The Gentle Touch had a 56-episode run (in 5 series) and Series 1 - 4 are on these discs plus one episode from Series 5. I'm not sure if Series 5 will turn up one day or not. This show has a very impressive list of guest stars and you check it out in the episode list on the wiki page.

C.A.T.S. Eyes

C.A.T.S. Eyes was a spin-off of The Gentle Touch with Jill Gascoine's Maggie Forbes leaving the police to work for a private investigation agency. In that respect it was more or less the British version of Charlie's Angels. It also starred Don Warrington (Rising Damp, Manchild, The Crouches, Casualty), Leslie Ash (Seconds Out, Men Behaving Badly, Where The Heart Is), Rosalyn Landor (Love In A Cold Climate, Rumpole Of The Bailey) and Tracy Louise Ward (Cluedo). These files are from video tape recordings.

Spearhead

Spearhead was a drama series about an Army regiment during the great war against Northern Ireland and Hong Kong.....or something. This was the steadiest gig they ever had for a lot of these actors, but there are some familiar faces in this too....such as Roy Holder (probably best known as Frank in Sorry! and was also in The Caves Of Androzani which many feel was the all-time best Doctor Who serial. Roy also appeared as a milkman in both Happy Ever After and Terry & June which may be the only continuity link between the two.)
The late Robin Davies was also in this and he is probably best remembered as a juvenile actor in Catweazle and as Simon, the older son in And Mother Makes Three/Five. Even Nicholas Lyndhurst appears in some of these episodes, sporting the most skeletal arms ever seen on a living person.
