David Ryall 1935 - 2014

British actor David Ryall died on Christmas. David had a long career with many mostly supporting roles. Aficionado's of British comedy television will remember him from Bless Me Father, Lytton's Diary, The River, Shelley, Goodnight Sweetheart, Outnumbered, Trollied and his guest appearances in shows such as Two's Company, Some Mothers Do 'ave 'em, Last of the Summer Wine, Adrian Mole, This Is David Lander, About Face, A Fine Romance, Perfect Scoundrels, Minder, Law and Disorder, Hamish MacBeth, Lovejoy, Doc Martin, The Legacy of Reginald Perrin, Love and Marriage.....and no stranger to drama with roles in The Pallisers, Love For Lydia, Enemy at the Door, The Singing Detective, The Chief, The Men's Room, In The Red and, most recently, the second series of The Village. Some of his drama guest appearances include Hadleigh, Reilly Ace of Spies, Spyship, Boon, Inspector Morse, The Paradise Club, Prime Suspect, Bonekickers, Jake's Progress, Pie in the Sky, A Touch of Frost, Ruth Rendell Mysteries, Peak Practice, Casualty, Foyle's War, Down to Earth, Heartbeat, Inspector Lewis, Midsomer Murders, Our Girl.....and films like The Elephant Man, Drake's Venture, The Woman in Black, Unconditional Love, Lucky Jim, Byron, Around the World in 80 Days, Clapham Junction, Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows, Quartet, Mr. Turner, The Tractate Middoth.
I think it would be safe to say he was an expert at playing cantankerous outspoken men.

Gibraltar - Disc 2 + Corfu: A Tale of Two Islands

Channel 5's Gibraltar: Britain in the Sun returned for a third series, which means they've gotten 20 episodes out of a place that's only two square miles! Timothy Spall still narrating.

Corfu: A Tale of Two Islands was filmed in 2012 and looks at the popular British sunshine destination and the effect the Greek fiscal crisis was having on the many British ex-pats living there.

Heroes Of Comedy

Heroes Of Comedy

Graham Norton Show - Series 16 Disc 1

Citizen Khan

Mr Khan, community leader, was back for another series......and will be back for a 4th series in 2015.

Detectorists + Puppy Love

Two new comedies, but not your typical sitcoms. Mackenzie Crook + Toby Jones + Joanna Scanlan + Vicki Pepperdine + Channel Four = you expect something different and with these, you got it.
Detectorists is returning in the future. Puppy Love just ended tonight. Toby Jones, by the way, will be Capt. Mainwaring in the new Dad's Army film in production.

Babylon

Babylon first appeared as a feature-length one-off earlier this year. It's found on Smorg 72. This is categorized as a police comedy-drama, but I don't think it is. I'd call it satire-drama. There's a lot of familiar faces in this. Andrew Brooke, Nick Blood, Paterson Joseph, Jill Halfpenny, James Nesbitt, Nicola Walker, Jonny Sweet, Ralph Brown.......
It requires about two-thirds of a disc and I have nothing else that small to fill it out.
Babylon

The Fall - Series 2

Northern Ireland crime drama / thriller The Fall returned for a second series. The two series will not fit on a single disc. It's not even close. The last episode is feature-length.

Emmerdale 2014 - Disc 12
