Serangoon Road

Serangoon Road is a new period drama from Australia. It takes place in 1964 Singapore.....so they make all the sets and actors look like it's 1964. Here's the star of the drama:
Let me tell you.......except for maybe a few clubs in Soho, London, men did not look like that in 1964. Not even close. I would hate to walk down any street in 1964 looking like that. So they go through all the trouble of producing a period drama but the star says "you can't touch my hair!!!!".
Makes me laugh.....but it's not a comedy.

Ambassadors + Man Down + The Wrong Mans

Here's some new comedy that I enjoyed very much.

Ambassadors is something new from the Peep Show guys: David Mitchell and Robert Webb. Same type of comedy you'd expect from them. More comedy-drama than sitcom. Three 1-hour episodes.
Ambassadors

Man Down is co-written by and stars Greg Davis. More black comedy than sitcom. With Roisin Conaty, Mike Wozniak, Rik Mayall, Gwyneth Powell and others. Not a classic but good enough by today's standard.
Man Down

The Wrong Mans is a comedy-drama thriller written by and starring James Corden and Mathew Baynton with Sarah Solemani, Dawn French, Emilia Fox and a bunch of other people.

Till Death Us Do Part - Lost Episodes Audio

Audio recordings of 12 of the lost episodes of Till Death Us Do Part in .mp3 format. These have been around but I cleaned up the recordings a little. Removed some dead spots and ticks, and re-equalized the recordings to sharpen up what was somewhat muffled-sounding dialogue.

The end of Poirot

After a run of nearly 25 years, Agatha Christie's Poirot has come to an end. The series wasn't cancelled, but they have completed all the stories. They'll probably start making new versions before too long. Call it The Young Poirot. Use fly-on-the-wall camera's and have no edit longer than 1½ seconds. Poirot will be 20 and a part-time model / part-time super sleuth. Television has greatly changed since the evening of 8 January 1989 when The Adventure of Clapham Cook first aired.

Alas Smith & Jones - Disc 3

The long missing Disc 3 of Alas Smith & Jones (containing Series 7 & 8) is now available thanks to Mancunian Ken. I've also added the very first Smith & Jones video to Disc 1. In 1982 they filmed an 8-minute segment for a special aired on Boxing Day called the Funny Side of Christmas.

The Indian Doctor - Disc 2

The drama-comedy The Indian Doctor returned for a third series - twice. This is a serial that takes place in Wales in 1966. It was first aired in Wales edited into three 58-minute episodes. This week it aired in the rest of the UK edited into five 43 to 44 minute episodes. So the initial airing ran for about 174 minutes, this week's version ran about 217 minutes. Take your pick - they're both on the disk.

West Country Tales....updated

Tucson Tim has sent along a bunch of vintage spooky stuff that I'm slowing sorting through.

West Country Tales ran for two series in the early 80's. Here are 9 surviving episodes (of 14 produced). This supernatural drama series solicited real-life accounts from viewers in the Devon, Cornwall, Dorset, Somerset area and selected 14 (of over 100 received) to create teleplays from.
These are a little different as there is little dialogue and a lot of narration, most of it done by Keith Barron (who has many credits in his long career - too many to list at this time...in between periods of a hockey game). A few familiar faces appear here. Wendy Richard, Nanette Newman, 60's singer Anita Harris. I've cleaned these up a bit. Lopped off the loose ends, shaved off any frayed edges, blurred out a couple time stamps, brightened up some dark shadows..........sorry, but I can find no other sources of information that contain anything I've not already mentioned.

UPDATE: Mancunian Ken had another episode and passed it along.
