Drama Smörgåsbord - Disc 7

All Or Nothing At All starred Hugh Laurie. There's a pretty good review on IMDB.

Plastic Man starred John Thaw. IMDB review:

The Life and Loves of a She-Devil starred Dennis Waterman, Patricia Hodge, and Julie T. Wallace (who I best recall as Mrs. Avery in Series 21 (later epsiodes) and 22 of Last of the Summer Wine).

2010 RHS Chelsea Flower Show

The Royal Horticultural Society's grandest show of the year takes place on the grounds of a hospital in the Chelsea area of London. This is a competitive showcase for garden designs and receives a lot of television coverage, all of which is contained on these discs. We enjoy watching them while having dinner. Beats the hell out of the news. The past couple years I've just deleted the files after viewing but this year I'll throw them out there in case anyone has an interest. To fill out the second disc I've included a new series called The Seasons with Alan Titchmarsh who is also the host of the Chelsea Flower Show television presentations.

Touching Evil

Touching Evil was a late 90's crime-drama from ITV Anglia.

The Wilsons + Los Dos Bros

The Wilsons + Los Dos Bros, 2 rare Channel 4 sitcoms. I've had Los Dos Bros for a couple years, but have paired it up with The Wilsons, which came into my hands a few months ago.

There was a "Christmas Special" episode of Mind To Kill in 1998 and I have added that to Disc 3. It was called Shadow Falls and was broadcast on 29 December.

more Martin Clunes

A few months ago I did up a couple discs of some of the films Martin Clunes has been in. One of you out there requested some discs of his television guest appearances (plus I had 3 other films - Lord of Misrule, Lorna Doone and Over Here and also his A Man And His Dogs TV special). So here they are. If anyone wants just the 3 films and dog special they should just barely fit on 1 disc. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martin_Clunes http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0167340/

Bad Girls

Coronation Street update

The best of Coronation Street discs 8-9-10.

Kath & Kim

Kath & Kim are "mother-daughter" characters developed in the late 80's by writer/actor/comedians Jane Turner and Gina Riley (who is also a singer and does the opening theme The Joker from the 1964 musical The Roar of the Greasepaint - The Smell of the Crowd). Kath & Kim first appeared on the sketch program Fast Forward and from there went on to Big Girl's Blouse and Something Stupid (I'm working on obtaining those programs). Finally in 2002 Kath & Kim hit the little screen with their own sitcom and it became one of the all-time top Australian shows and was also broadcast in New Zealand, Ireland, the UK and Finland.
For those in the US please don't confuse this with the NBC program of the same name.
Normally I find so-called "bonus material" pretty lame, but if you enjoy this program the 3rd disc is loaded with interesting and funny material and well worth viewing.

Three Up, Two Down

Three Up, Two Down was an 80's sitcom starring Angela Thorne (To The Manor Born, Noah's Ark, Anyone For Denis?, Farrington Of The F.O.), Michael Elphick (Boon, Private Schulz), Lysette Anthony, Ray Burdis (Operation: Good Guys, Manchild), Neil Stacy (Duty Free, The Pallisers, To Serve Them All My Days).

Keep It In The Family

Keep It In The Family was an early 80's Thames sitcom starring Robert Gillespie and Pauline Yates. Gillespie will look very familiar even if you've never watched this program as he appeared on so many other programs during the 60's - 90's I'd have to skip my breakfast just to list them. Pauline Yates is probably best known for her role as Elizabeth Perrin in the Fall And Rise Of Reginald Perrin / The Legacy Of Reginald Perrin. It says there was a Hollywood program based on Keep It In The Family called Too Close For Comfort, but don't hold that against it.

Christmas Comedy Carnival 1972-1973

Thanks to my trading amigo with the big country spread about 9 miles south of White Park Bay, I now have several rare episodes of popular early 70's sitcoms that were featured on the Christmas Day specials in 1972 and 1973. I wasn't aware some of them even existed. All of them are 6 to 8 minutes in length and deal with Christmas.

From 1972 there's Father Dear Father, Fenn Street Gang, Love Thy Neighbour, Nearest And Dearest, On The Buses and one for Thirty Minutes Worth which was a Harry Worth series I don't have so I put it on the My Name Is Harry Worth disc.

From 1973 there is Billy Liar, Doctor In Charge, Man About The House, and Spring & Autumn.

Jonathan Creek

I've learned episodes 6,7, 8 on disc 1 have some sort of strange audio codec that prevents the files from playing on most players (although they play fine on a PC with VLC and keep in mind I'm absolutely not responsible for everyone's players). I've recoded them so if you have received that disc from me and order again, remind me and I'll send out a new disc with those eps plus the new episode that was broadcast about 6 weeks ago.

Blessed + Feel The Force

2 for 1 sitcoms from BBC. Blessed starred Ardal O'Hanlon (Father Dougal McGuire on Father Ted and George Sunday on My Hero), Robert Webb (The Smoking Room, Peep Show, That Mitchell And Webb Look) and Mel Giedroyc. Written by Ben Elton and about a record producer struggling to raise two small children, or maybe it was a struggling record produce raising two small children. Either way, I sense some sort of struggle.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blessed_(television)
Feel The Force was a police satire sitcom about two female cops in Glasgow and starred Michelle Gomez (Green Wing, The Book Group, Carrie And Barry) and Rosie Cavaliero (Cold Feet, Eyes Down, Green Wing, Jam & Jerusalem, Saxondale, Lark Rise To Candleford).
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Feel_the_force

Colonel March of Scotland Yard update

A few of you out there were interested in this program. I've discovered there seems to be an audio problem with the codec used (not my conversion). Check your discs. I've recoded it.

That Mitchell & Webb Look

That Mitchell and Webb Look....David Mitchell and Robert Webb are well known for their popular sitcom Peep Show. Mitchell has also had many guest appearances on other programs and has a semi-regular role on Jam & Jerusalem. Same goes for Webb with guest appearances plus his roles in The Smoking Room and Blessed. This program is their comedy sketch show and there's a crap-load of yucks on one little disc.

Just after I posted this I saw Obama is going to nominate Kagan for the Supreme Court.

Now tell me, is this photo Kagan or David Mitchell in drag? (lol)

Never Better http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Never_Better

Human Remains

Human Remains was a BBC black comedy of 6 stand-alone programs featuring the same actors in different roles. Produced by Steve Coogan & Henry Normal's Baby Cow Productions (which should give you an idea of the type of comedy it is).
