Jude The Obscure + Cousin Bette
A couple more mini-series drama classics from the BBC which also found their way across the Atlantic to PBS.
Jude The Obscure is an adaptation of the famous Thomas Hardy novel of 1895.

Cousin Bette is an adaptation of the famous 1846 novel by Honoré de Balzac starring Margaret Tyzack in the title role. Margaret has had a long career of high acclaim on the stage and appeared in other BBC drama classics of that period such as the Forsyte Saga, The First Churchills and I, Claudius. She also appeared in cult classic films like 2001: A Space Odyssey and A Clockwork Orange and in recent years has been seen on TV in Doc Martin, Midsomer Murders, Rosemary And Thyme and even an episode of Heartbeat. Also featured in a leading role was a 25 year old Helen Mirren and future Doctor Who #6 Colin Baker.
