Happy Ever After was a sitcom created for Terry Scott and June Whitfield following their success working together on the sketch program Scott On.
Despite achieving success, after 41 episodes the team of writers felt they had exhausted their creativity and declined to carry on. The BBC, not wanting to give up on a good thing, overcame legal obstacles with the production team and six months after the final episode of Happy Ever After aired, Terry And June hit the airwaves. For legal reasons they were now the Medfords instead of the Fletchers. Aunt Lucy and the daughters were gone, but their neighbors and Terry's workplace became key ingrediants of Terry And June.
I think Happy Ever After had a sharper emotional edge than Terry And June, but anyone who enjoyed one would certainly like the other.
