Tess of the D'Ubervilles, 2 television adaptations of the 1891 Thomas Hardy novel. The first one, from 1998 and co-produced by London Weekend and A&E, runs nearly 3 hours long. The other one came 10 years later, co-produced by BBC and WGBH-Boston, in 4 one-hour parts.
