First And Last.....a 1989 film with veteran film and stage actors Joss Ackland and Pat Heywood, plus Patricia Routledge (Keeping Up Appearances, Hetty Wainthropp Investigates), about a man who walked from John O'Groats to Land's End. The lead roll was originally played by Ray McAnally, but he died just before completion and the BBC had to start re-filming from scratch with Ackland. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0097363/
Ackland lives in Clovelly, Devon. The entire village is situated on the side of a steep hill on the ocean. Basically a single (and very steep) cobblestone lane (no vehicles) winds down through the village. Donkey's were (are?) used to haul goods on skids to supply the merchants and residents. It's a bit of a tourist trap but worth a visit on a nice day. Here are a few photo's I took in 2003 (not to bore you!).
