The Thick Of It

The Thick Of It. A BBC political satire some call the "21st century Yes Minister", but that sort of reminds me of the days when every upcoming band was going to be "the next Beatles".
Not sure if this one is ready to compare itself to one of the most clever and all-time great British satire-comedy.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Thick_of_It This collection contains all 3 series, the 2 specials, the feature film plus bonus material. This one uses the herky-jerky hand-held camera "technique" that has become so common in the past decade. The average length between edits is about 2 seconds.....which is great for the attention-span challenged. The industry likes to refer to this style as "fly on the wall" but I can think of other terms to describe that type of production......like low-budget, unpolished, amateurish........but that's just me. Nevertheless, this program has been successful and well received. I just wish they'd leave "fly-on-the-wall" for music videos. With that said I have to admit the technique worked very well with Arrested Development, but I do believe AD used a single camera and not multiple cams like Thick.
