Many people are familiar with Jim and Barbara Royle on the Royle Family. Those characters are played by Ricky Tomlinson and Sue Johnston (above on the 2009 Christmas special). Those outside the UK probably aren't aware that Tomlinson and Johnston were a popular TV couple long before the Royle's. Here they are as Sheila and Bobby Grant on the first episode of the long running soap Brookside back in November 1982.
Just in case you were curious, Sue was 65 (now 66) in the top photo and 39 below. Ricky probably 70 / 43.
