A number of discs have been updated with the recent Christmas Specials added to them.
Two Pints Of Lager had a 2-part episode called The Aftermath and those are now found on Disc 5.
My Family, as usual, was back again this year with 2039: A Christmas Oddity which featured not only old flashback scenes but new flashback scenes. Oddly enough, one flashback scene used was also used in the preceding episode Kenzo's Project! Let's just hope other UK sitcoms manage to avoid Hollywoodization. Disc 6 is full so it must start off a new Disc 7 awaiting Series 10.
Victoria Wood was back this year. Not only with a Christmas Eve special called Mid-Life Crisis, but there was also a nice program about her TV career. Both programs added to Disc 4.
Catherine Tate was also back this year in Nan's Christmas Carol, added to Disc 2.
The Royle Family......wow.....we thought they left TV on Christmas 2000 but they keep dusting off the cobwebs and they were back for Christmas again this year in The Golden Eggcup as Jim and Barbara celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. Added to Disc 2.
Cranford came back after 2 years (although Cranford itself only progressed 1 year) with a 2-part special.
Outnumbered returned exactly one year after they last left us (except for the short Comic Relief Special). Not much has changed in the Brockman household. About the only time I'm glad my kids are adults is when I watch that show.
Doctor Who returned with a 2-part episode called The End Of Time which sees the departure of David Tennant, the 10th Doctor, found on 10th Doctor Disc 5.
I think that covers all the 2009 Christmas Specials. Happy New Year!
