The Glittering Prizes

The Glittering Prizes was a mid-70's drama about the lives of a group of Cambridge students over the 25 years or so leading up to the mid-70's and is a semi-autobiographical piece by noted writer Frederic Raphael. Stars include Tom Conti, Barbara Kellerman and Leonard Sachs. This was also aired by PBS in the US in the 70's and with episodes running about 100 minutes not fitting into their rigid 60 minute slots the episodes were chopped up into 8 eps. I believe these must be the source material as some episodes are missing the opening sequence. It's difficult not to notice that for a work that takes place over a span of nearly 25 years, the producers usually had the female actors in contemporary hair styles, yet throughout the program the male actors always looked like they were in the mid-70's.
