British Cinema Classics - Comedy - Discs 21 & 22

British Cinema Classics - Comedy - Discs 21 & 22

Some more "The Movie's" of popular TV comedies for those that enjoy films but not sitcoms.....plus some classics.

George And Mildred was made after the 5th series of the very poplular sitcom and proved to be the end of it all due to the death of star Yootha Joyce.

Inn For Trouble was "The Larkins - The Movie". Filmed between the 2nd and 3rd series in 1959. Personally, I enjoyed this and found it refreshing with a setting that was far removed from the dark and tiny set used for the TV program.

Porridge: The Movie came well over two years after the very successful sitcom ended. It even came after its sequel Going Straight ended.

Rising Damp was released in 1980 and like Porridge came some 2 years after the popular sitcom ended. Unfortunately, by the time the film was made Richard Beckinsale had died, but since he had left the sitcom before it ended it's not certain whether he would have been in the film or not.

The Navy Lark was a 1959 film adaptation of a popular radio show and has not been commercially released to the best of my knowledge.

The Belles of St. Trinian's (1954)

Blue Murder at St. Trinian's (1957)

The Pure Hell of St. Trinian's (1960)

The Great St. Trinian's Train Robbery (1966)
