Root Into Europe was a sitcom starring the great George Cole (The Bounder, Blott On The Landscape, Comrade Dad, Minder, Dad) as a pompous, arrogant bigot who sees himself as a defender of " British values". Dismayed by the prospect of greater European union, he travels the continent on a mission to "get to know the enemy". His long-suffering wife Muriel (Pat Heywood) has to tag along behind him, witnessing his frequent displays of anti-European invective.
See You Friday was a sitcom that starred Joanna Roth and Neil Pearson (Chelmsford 123, Drop The Dead Donkey, All The Small Things, The State Within) who meet while on holiday in Greece. He wants to see her again after they return to England. Unfortunately, they live at opposite ends of the country and getting together again causes more than a few problems.
