As much as I respect Dawn French and Alfred Molina as actors, this type of comedy isn't for everyone.

The Great Outdoors was a 3 episode comedy on BBC FOUR. Anything that Ruth Jones and Katherine Parkinson get involved in will usually make it worthy enough for me to check out, but I don't know how much further they could have taken this thing without getting away from the central theme of odd characters in a ramblers club. It would probably work very well in a comedy sketch program.

The Adventures Of Daniel was a BBC THREE pilot geared for teenyboppers I think.

The Inn Mates was another BBC THREE pilot. Think of this show as Coupling for 14 year olds.
