Churchill At War: Into The Storm
BBC film from last November.
"Third drama in a series that began with 1981's "The Wilderness Years" and continued in 2002 with "The Gathering Storm" This installment charts Winston Churchill's rise to power, his determination to lead the country to victory in World War II, and his devastating loss of power in the 1945 general election. The film also explores Winston's changing relationships, including how the intimacy between a man and his wife is sacrificed for the sake of a greater goal."
Wonder if there's any mention of the Poland Guarantee?

In Search Of Offa
An oldie from the very early days of home VCR's.
"Michael Wood is perhaps the master of the television historical documentary genre. His films on Alexander the Great, The Trojan War and more recently Conquistadors and The Story of India are object lessons in how to bring history to life. In Search of Offa, broadcast in 1979, was Wood’s first full televised documentary, his first attempt at bringing myth and legend to the small screen, and was part of an occasional sequence of programmes sometimes known collectively as ‘In Search of the Dark Ages’. This is an extremely rare documentary and exhibits many of the traits which were to reappear in his later work

From the Opening Scene: “At the end of the ninth century, a chronicler wrote of a time before his day when a mighty king in Mercia struck terror throughout Britain. This king, he said, built a huge dyke between the Welsh and the English stretching from sea to sea. The king’s name was Offa.”
