Following up on the 2013 Boxing Day special, Still Open All Hours returned for a series. David Jason, Maggie Ollerenshaw, Lynda Baron and Stephanie Cole all return from the original 70's / 80's show. (No, Barbara Flynn does not return as a 66 year old flirty milk float lady). New faces include Brigit Forsyth, Johnny Vegas, James Baxter {as Granville's son Leroy}, Tim Healy, Nina Wadia, Sally Lindsay, Kulvinder Ghir, and appearances by Mark Williams, Paula Wilcox, Vicki Pepperdine, Kathryn Hunt....and Alan David has a scene walking past Arkwright's store. I could do that. How do you get those jobs? I'm about a foot taller than Alan and would be more noticeable. Still open...and still written by Roy Clarke and as with the first (1976) series of Open All Hours, there's still room for growth. There's a lot of good characters if they can figure out what to do with them. Ollerenshaw and Forsyth's characters have good chemistry and were a bit underused. I enjoyed the few scenes when Granville does a hard-sell and very obviously channels Del Boy much more than Arkwright.
