The Job Lot + Up The Women + Vicious

Some new comedy from the UK. A 3-for-1.

The Job Lot starring Sarah Hadland (Broken News, Moving Wallpaper, That Mitchell & Webb Look, Miranda, Waterloo Road Series 7, The Bleak Old Shop of Stuff), Russell Tovey (Little Dorrit, Gavin & Stacey, Being Human, Him & Her), Angela Curran (This Is Jinsy), Tony Maudsley (Eyes Down, The Wilsons, Benidorm, The Spa, Blandings), Jo Enright (Lab Rats, Ideal, Trollied, Life's Too Short), Tamla Kari (Cuckoo) and others. Sitcom takes place at a Job Centre (in the USA they used to call them the Unemployment Office).
The Job Lot

Up The Women is a 3-part comedy written by and starring Jessica Hynes (Asylum, Spaced, Bob & Rose, The Royle Family, According To Bex, One Night, Twenty Twelve) with Adrian Scarborough (A Dance to the Music of Time, Let Them Eat Cake, Psychoville, Gavin & Stacey, Cranford, Upstairs Downstairs, Mrs Biggs, Plebs, Miranda), Rebecca Front (The Day Today, Big Train, Time Gentlemen Please, Nighty Night, Grandma's House, The Thick Of It, Lewis, The Spa), Judy Parfitt (Call The Midwife, Little Dorrit, Funland, The Jewel in the Crown), Vicki Pepperdine (Getting On), Emma Pierson (Beast, Time Gentlemen Please, The Worst Week of My Life, Talk To Me, Little Dorrit, Dead Boss), Ryan Sampson (After You've Gone, Plebs). The sitcom is about a local suffragette chapter.

Vicious starring Ian McKellen (way too many to list) and Derek Jacobi (too many creds but well known for Cadfael, Mr Pye, The Pallisers, and recently in Last Tango In Halifax) with Frances de la Tour (Rising Damp, A Kind Of Living, Flickers, Harry Potter films) and Marcia Warren (No Place Like Home, Life of Riley, The Cafe). This is going to have a Christmas special at the end of the year.

Speaking of Rebecca Front...........the Playhouse Presents episode Psychobitches has been developed into a 5 episode series and is currently airing on the Sky Arts channel Thursday evenings. It seems as though nobody on the planet is recording them. I have searched high and low. Unfortunately the one place I'd probably find them is a place I don't have access to. I never expect any feedback from this blog, but if anyone knows of any sources lets work something out. With a line up that includes Front, Catherine Tate, Sharon Horgan, Julia Davis, Katy Brand, Samantha Spiro, Sarah Solemani and Selina Griffiths.....this is something I'd like to see! If you're in the UK you may be able to download a web rip from the website.
