For The Love Of Ada
I'm pleased to say that this gentle comedy from 40+ years ago is now not only complete, but entirely nice crisp digital video. For The Love Of Ada starred Irene Handl, Wilfred Pickles, Barbara Mitchell and Jack Smethurst and was created and written by the team of Harry Driver and Vince Powell who also did George and the Dragon, Never Mind The Quality Feel The Width and created and did some of the writing for Love Thy Neighbour and Bless This House. Harry Driver died shortly after For The Love Of Ada and Vince Powell went on to do Mind Your Language and the last three series of Never The Twain.

Stella
Stella is a new Welsh comedy-drama by Ruth Jones. James Corden, her former co-creator/co-writer/co-star of Gavin & Stacey makes an appearance in the final episode. Also with familiar faces such as Maggie Steed, Owen Teale, Elizabeth Berrington, Steve Speirs. And if you pay attention you'll even catch Deddie Davies from time to time....which certainly made me smile. It's been reported that Stella will be returning sometime in the future.

Thanks
Thanks very much to everyone that has or is responding to my data loss predicament, particularly to those who made very generous non-reciprocating offers from the US to the UK to Down Under. It's much appreciated and recovery is progressing. I'm still looking for these titles. Some of them I'm not expecting to find, yet I know some of these titles have been quite popular with the readers of this blog. uktvfl@yahoo.com
I received several e-mails from people looking for the new Whitechapel series. I'm waiting on the first series which was among the missing. Also, Bleak Old Shop Of Stuff. When Pramface finishes up on the 29th I'll put it on a disc with that. The new series of The Indian Doctor is another one. I'm waiting on recovering the first series.
Again, thanks very much.

The Plane Makers
The Plane Makers was a 60's industrial drama with a lot of kitchen sink elements although the focus was on management. It ran for 3 series (58 episodes). Only the very first (of 16) episode from Series 1 survives. These discs contain that and the 28 Series 2 episodes. It's unknown if the 13 Series 3 episodes will find their way into the hands of the public at this time. Episode 22 from Series 2 is missing from the episode guides so I don't know if there was one or not.
If you go on the "A-z" website you will see that these are not easy to come by and can be had only at a considerable cost. Mancunian Ken made a great effort to make these available. This show was continued as The Power Game which you can look for here in the future. The 96 or 97 47-minute episodes of Plane Makers / Power Game made it one of the longest TV drama productions of the 60's. Although little of this program takes place in a plane, I do enjoy the cavernous mockup they used for those scenes. If only passenger jets did have 10 foot ceilings! Looks like the inside of a C4-Galaxy. That's Wendy Craig serving drinks.
