Coronation Street - 2010 Disc 10

Wow baby! Pretty exciting stuff going on down by Rover's Return this week. Crikey! You'll be holding on to your hat at the end of this disc. PLUS, Thursday night marks the Golden Anniversary of Coronation Street. A full 50 years since the first episode beamed out of those little monochrome screens. The next disc will not only wrap up 2010, but will have all the special programs being presented this week in honor of Cori reaching the 50 year milestone. Look out baby, there's a train a-comin'!

Getting On, the BBC 4 black comedy that takes place in a NHS nursing ward, returned for a 2nd series. This program is written by the cast and largely ad libbed.

The Librarians

The Librarians recently concluded it's third series. This Australian sitcom is the work of husband/wife team Robyn Butler and Wayne Hope who produce, direct, write and act in The Librarians. Robyn also acted in Welcher & Welcher and Wayne in Stupid, Stupid Man, two other fun sitcoms. This is also broadcast in Ireland. I prefer to keep my opinions to myself because everyone has different tastes, but I've been enjoying this program. Bed Of Roses returns

Bed Of Roses, the Australian drama-comedy, returns for a 3rd series today. This time around it will be 12 new episodes. Not sure when or if they'll be screened in Ireland and South Africa like the first 2 series were.

Sir Francis Drake

Sir Francis Drake was another period adventure drama produced by ITC Entertainment. This was also broadcast in the US on NBC during the summer of '62.

Even if you're not old enough to remember this one, viewers will see familiar faces from later days.
Below are Glenn Edwards and Michael Crawford who in the 70's would be reunited in Some Mothers Do 'ave 'em which starred Crawford and featured Edwards in a few episodes. Of course Crawford went on to become a mega-star on the West End and Broadway stages.

Another member of Drake's crew in one episode was Bob Grant who is best remembered for starring in (and writing many episodes) On The Buses.
