Upper Middle Bogan - Disc 2 + Rosehaven
I was happy to see Australian comedy Upper Middle Bogan return for a third series.
To fill out the disc it includes a new Australian comedy, a Tasmanian comedy to be precise, Rosehaven...and I have to say I found it to be a very pleasant surprise. If some of your favorite British comedies of the past few years were shows like The Cafe, The Mimic, Rev., Detectorists, Car Share....then you may want to check out Rosehaven.

Bannan - Disc 2
Scottish-Gaelic drama Bannan {The Ties That Bind} returned for another 5 episodes. Filmed on the Isle of Skye....home of Talisker Single Malts which are out of my price range.....and it's a good thing too. I couldn't find anything new on this. Here's an older link.

The Organization + The Old Men At The Zoo
Two vintage British satirical dramas.
"This witty, sharply observed drama series reveals the intrigues, resentments, bewilderments and betrayals of the staff of a large corporation. Based on writer Philip Mackie's own experiences.
The Greatrick Organization is a faceless, multi-million-pound concern dedicated to making more millions. In its headquarters we meet an assortment of middle and junior executives, among them new boy Richard Pershore a handsome young hopeful who knows he's just walked into a jungle; press officer Rodney Spurling, widely known as the Chairman's whipping boy; and PR head David Pulman, with his beautiful, ever-efficient but possibly treacherous secretary, Veronica.
Their lives may look cosy enough, but appearances are deceptive. All they have to do is carry on being loyal corporate slaves until they're 60 or 65, but there are a hundred different ways to put a foot wrong..."
The Old Men At The Zoo (from old video tape but very watchable). If you scroll down the IMDB page someone has volunteered a nice review.

Red Rock - Disc 5
There's still room on this disc for a couple more episodes, but it appears Red Rock has gone on hiatus again until mid-January, so time to close it out. I see Jane McGrath recently had a leading role in the BBC drama The Moonstone.

Happy Ever After
1970's sitcom Happy Ever After was recently released on DVD so all files have been upgraded to digital from VHS and the two missing episodes are no longer missing.
Cannon?
If anyone is interested in this early 70's Hollywood detective drama starring William Conrad, get in touch with me. I'm going to do a one-time-only thing, first come first serve.

The Level + The Moonstone
Two new detective shows.
The Level is a contemporary police drama that takes place in Brighton.
The Moonstone is the latest TV adaptation of the famous 1868 classic novel. Good cast.
Still Game - Disc 6
About time! After disappearing from the box about 9 years ago, the Craiglang gang is back. Still Game has returned with the entire cast still intact. They just don't need as much make-up as they used to. I haven't watched tonight's episode yet, but enjoyed the rest very much. I hope they stick around for awhile. This disc has regular files and also a set with hard-coded subtitles. It's not always easy for people outside the UK to grab all the dialogue, particularly Isa and Navid. In case you want to brush up on your Glaswegian, here's a good site:
Robert Vaughn 1932 - 2016
Robert Vaughn has died. Robert was an American actor whose film and TV appearances spanned over 60 years, but also appeared in British TV shows such as Coronation Street, Hustle and The Protectors.

DCI Banks bites the dust
Yesterday it was reported in the media that ITV has pulled the plug on DCI Banks and there will be no further episodes. Maybe they'll use that money-saved to fund a new show about trendy cool hipsters saving the planet from zombies. You know, something different.

Fair City 2016 - Disc 6
Fair City 2016 - Disc 6
A few people have asked me about the status of Red Rock. It has returned from its hiatus and is now a weekly late evening 45-minute drama. A new disc will be available in a couple weeks. I read that it will soon be carried in the UK on BBC One.
Black Mirror - Disc 2
Wiki says this is a science fiction satire. It first aired on Channel 4 back about 5 years ago, returned for a Christmas special a couple years ago and now Hixflix has revived it for a second series, because, after all, what's a day without a zombie TV show to watch, right?
Poldark - Disc 2
Big costume drama Poldark returned for a second series and will be returning for a third sometime in the future.

The Strain - Disc 3
The Strain returned for a third series. Yes, it's a Hollywood zombie show or something, but it stars British actor David Bradley and also features Rupert Penry-Jones. It will be returning next year for a fourth, and final, season.

Mount Pleasant - Disc 6
Comedy-drama Mount Pleasant returned for a 6th series and ended, as it usually does, with heart stopping high drama worthy of many soaps. There really aren't any good websites out there about this show. Remember when there used to be good "fan sites" for different shows, etc.? There is nothing these days.
