Doctor Thorne + Thirteen + The Night Manager
The Night Manager
In order to fit these onto a single disc I had to compress the video at a bitrate of 625. Normally, I don't go below 700 and prefer to use a rate of about 1200. Hopefully the files will look alright.

Lucky Man
Officially titled "Stan Lee's Lucky Man", this has a given genre as "crime drama", but I would call it a fantasy crime drama thriller as Stan Lee is the guy that created The Hulk and Spiderman, etc. Starring James Nesbitt (Ballykissangel, Playing The Field, Cold Feet, Jekyll, Murphy's Law, The Passion, The Deep, Monroe, Babylon, The Missing, The Secret and the Hobbit films). This will be returning for a second series. No information yet on the title of the last episode.
Moving On - Disc 4
Jimmy McGovern's drama anthology series Moving On returned for a 7th series and will be back for an 8th series next year.

Fair City 2016 - Disc 2
"Fair City is the most watched drama in Ireland. Devised by Margaret Gleeson, it has remained a significant programme in terms of RTE's success and audience share, and also in the history of Irish television drama, tackling many controversial and taboo issues previously unseen on Irish television."
Leave It To Charlie
Leave It To Charlie is a late 70's British sitcom starring David Roper (The Cuckoo Waltz) and Peter Sallis (Last of the Summer Wine, Yanks Go Home, Ghosts of Motley Hall) with David Ross (Yanks Go Home, Roger Roger, The Green Green Grass), Sally Kinghorn, Gwen Cherrell, Jean Heywood (When The Boat Comes In, All Creatures Great & Small, The Brothers McGregor). John Horsley (Fall & Rise of Reginald Perrin, Hot Metal, My Husband And I, You Rang M'Lord?) was in 7 episodes, Felix Bowness (Hi-de-Hi!, Oh Dr Beeching, You Rang M'Lord, Sykes) was in 3. Robert Gillespie (Keep It In The Family, Bonjour La Classe) was in 2 and people like Ruth Madoc (Hi-de-Hi!, Mine All Mine, Big Top, Little Britain), Jeff Rawle (Billy Liar, Faith in the Future, Doc Martin, Drop the Dead Donkey), Michael Robbins (Fairly Secret Army, On The Buses), Anne Reid (too many), Phil Jackson (too many), Frances de la Tour (too many) also make appearances. Unfortunately, the last 7 episodes are missing.

New Scotland Yard - Disc 5
Fifth, and final, disc for the popular early 70's crime/procedural drama. Thanks to Mancunian Ken for supplying this.
Dinosaur Discs
I picked up a cheap little (24 inch, smallest they make) Samsung smart TV recently. I think it was just over $100. I got it for my work space here. I connected a 75Ω coax cable to it that runs out to a splitter in my garage that is fed by a roof top digital antenna. It picks up 43 stations and the picture is much better than any picture I ever got with cable TV. And it's free. The only problem is there is nothing worth watching on those 43 stations. Since it's only about 4 feet from my fiber-optic modem/router, rather than screw around with the wireless settings I just ran an ethernet cable from the modem/router to the TV. It connects to the internet very easily. I then ran a cable from it to an input on my audio mixing console which lets me use one speaker array and headphones for all four PC's, TV, turntable, analog tape, equalizer, VHS, DVD, etc.
There are two USB ports on the back of the TV. So I took a 16 GB USB flash drive and a 32 GB USB flash drive and copied some .avi files with the DivX codec, some .avi files with the XviD codec, some HD .mp4 files, some 1280 X 720 HD .mkv files to both. Plugged a couple of short USB extension cables into the back and brought the other ends out to the front, plugged the USB flash drives into the cables and ALL those files played just fine on the TV. No external disc players, no external media players, didn't matter what the size of the picture was or what type of file it was. No moving parts. No lasers. Get the picture?

Ófærð.....(Trapped)
I wouldn't know how to pronounce Ófærð, so Trapped sounds good to me. A new mystery-thriller from Iceland.
