Well, it's that time of the year again. George Gently returned with four new feature-length episodes. Downton Abbey returned for its 3rd series tonight. New Tricks is halfway through its 9th series. QI is back......must be getting near Autumn.....which to me means I can shut off the air conditioning in another month or so.

Gates is a new comedy with an impressive cast which led me to have high hopes for it. Starring Joanna Page (Stacey in Gavin & Stacey), Tom Ellis, Sue Johnston, Ella Kenion (Swinging, Hardware, Catherine Tate, Mrs Cakeworthy in Green Green Grass), Tony Gardner (Michael in Lead Balloon). Everybody is over the top in this except the Page, Ellis and Johnston characters who are reasonably sane.
